Paws it Forward
Dog Rescue

Paws It Forward started in November 2011 when two friends decided to help save the lives of animals being euthanized in California's shelters. They began by finding loving homes for 50 dogs. Today, Paws It Forward rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes hundreds of neglected, abandoned, or abused dogs each year, helping to save dogs from northern Canada, the USA, and within the local community. The rescue is solely run by volunteers and fosters, relying on donations.

As a current volunteer and foster at Wild to Tame Inc., I advocate for anyone who can help support this amazing cause. If you have questions about our personal experiences with the rescue, feel free to contact me via email.

Spay and neuter clinic - Costa Rica

El Refugio Costa Ballena

Founded in early 2017, El Refugio Hogar Animal Costa Ballena (which means “The Refuge Animal Home of Costa Ballena”) is the only animal rescue organization with a shelter in the Costa Ballena region of southern Costa Rica.

The goal of El Refugio is to improve the welfare of dogs and cats through rescue efforts, low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination clinics, education programs, and community outreach, with a focus on rescuing and rehabilitating homeless, abandoned, and injured dogs and cats.

As a past volunteer at Wild to Tame Inc., I encourage you to help, even if it’s from a distance; donating is a great way to do so.

If you are ever in Costa Rica, consider visiting or finding out how you can volunteer at their beautiful facility in Uvita. If you have questions about our personal experiences with the rescue, feel free to contact me via email.
